Details about helping the group
Wanted
Do you like the outdoors, friendly people, a bit of a challenge and possibly a bit crazy. Do you get on with young people between the ages of 6 and 107.
We are not looking for leaders. We are looking for "scouters" {Definition: Adult members of the Scouts who assist scouts in leading there own activities} We need adults to help young people develop there skills and run activities for themselves. We don't need people who want to spend the night telling them what to do.

Transport
The cost of hiring transport is quite severe. For alot of activities it is better to use private transport. Occasionally we need parent to help transport members to and from activities as well as equpment.
Note: It is the responsibility of all drivers to make sure that there car is insured, road worthy and the children in the car comply with all safety regulations.
If you want more information please contact the
Group Leader
Scouters
A scouter is an adult registered with national office who has completed basic training and is suitable for working with children. They organise activities or coordinate activities organised by the member.
Time Commitment: weekly meetings vary from 1h (Beavers) to 2h (Scouts) There is usually a program planning meeting every few weeks.
FAQ's
What night of the week is it on:
Monday: Cubs
Tuesday: Beavers & Cubs
Thursday: Scouts
Friday: Scouts
Sundays: Ventures
But I don't know anything about scouts. Is there any training:
You are not going to be left to run the meetings yourself so just look at what the others are doing and you will pick it up very quickly. All Scouters are required to do training which includes among other things, information about the program for your section, Program planing, safety, Child protection, and first aid.
Can I just go down to the hall and see what it is Like:
No. Please ring the group leader first. This is for child protection reasons and so there will be a scouter available to answer any question you might have.
Can my child join: All sections are full (unless we get enough scouters to start a new one) Click
HERE for details about youth members joining.
What happens if you do not have enough leaders: We have to start closing sections.
I asked about joining before and heard no more about it: If you were given the leader pack we are waiting to recieve your references before we can do anything else. Please contact the Group Leader if you have any questions.
